Alumni DISI: esperienze di successo

Tre ex studenti di talento del DISI incontreranno il pubblico per condividere le esperienze avute nel corso della loro carriera e raccontare come il percorso formativo al DISI abbia contributo a fargli raggiungere una posizione lavorativa di successo.
Al termine delle presentazioni degli Alumni, il pubblico potrà fare domande e interagire con i relatori.

Questo evento si svolge parte in italiano e parte in inglese.

I nostri alumni

Enrico Mioso

Mi chiamo Enrico Mioso e sono nato a Verona, nel 1989.
Le mie passioni sono la tecnologia e la scrittura, nelle quali ho percepito un modo per comunicare rispettivamente con gli altri e con sè stessi.
Mi sono diplomato all’Istituto Tecnico Industriale Statale G. Marconi di Verona, quindi ho proseguito il mio corso di studi all’Università Degli Studi di Trento, laureandomi nel 2016.
Oggi lavoro in un’azienda di Consulting che opera nel settore automotive.

L’Università degli Studi di Trento mi ha regalato fin da subito una delle consapevolezze più importanti: e cioè che se ci si mette in gioco, anche le sfide apparentemente insuperabili si possono affrontare. Ma la differenza più grande è data dal mettersi in gioco INSIEME, cercando di giorno in giorno nuovi modi per trasmettere la conoscenza e con essa l’amore per il sapere, la voglia e la necessità di spingersi sempre più in là per scoprire che è proprio vero: SAPERE è POTERE.
Ho avuto la fortuna di condividere il mio percorso con ragazzi che come me cercavano la loro strada, e con docenti che con pazienza e dedizione ci hanno guidato passo dopo passo, insegnandoci anche il valore della forza di volontà.
Ho posto tante domande e ricevuto molte risposte, scoprendo che la mia disabilità visiva sarebbe stata a volte una difficoltà, ma superabile se ci avessimo provato INSIEME.
E INSIEME, queste difficoltà le abbiamo superate fino al conseguimento, da parte mia, della Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria delle Telecomunicazioni.

Genc  Hoxha

My name is Genc Hoxha, and I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Remote Sensing Image Analysis (RSiM) group at the Technical University of Berlin.
My academic career started at DISI where I pursued a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, a master’s degree in Telecommunication engineering and a PhD degree in Information and Communication Technology. My research interests include machine learning and image processing with applications to remote sensing image analysis.
The ICT doctoral school is an environment in which you feel accompanied and protected in every step of your journey towards pursuing a PhD. This is thanks to the internal structure of the school that is characterized by a high-level academic staff.
The school offers highly qualified PhD supervisors with a proven academic experience; high-quality courses and seminars that are given by prestigious internal and invited researchers and professors; the ability to assess the well-being of its students by evaluating their academic progress yearly; the possibility of meeting other internal or visiting PhD students and senior researchers that share their
valuable experiences; the possibility to be involved in the teaching activities; and the period abroad which allows students to see other research environments and to further enrich their academic and personal skills.
The ICT doctoral school is also a multicultural environment in which researchers coming together from different countries make you feel like a citizen of the world.
This is very important as research itself is a multicultural network where researchers around the world work together to discover new insights from which the community can benefit.
Overall, I am very pleased to have pursued a PhD at DISI as it gave me the necessary technical and soft skills to continue my academic career here at the Technical University of Berlin.

Mariano Devigili

Mariano obtained a BSc in Information and Communication Engineering at the University of Trento in 2019. During his undergraduate studies, he took part in an Erasmus+ exchange programme at the University of Valencia in Spain for 10 months and completed a 3 months internship at Telecomuniciones de Levante SL. He received a PIXNET Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (IT), Aston University (UK) and Osaka University. Currently, he is puirsuing a PhD at Universitat Polytecnica de Catalunya (UPC) under Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) within the MENTOR project. During his activity as ESR he spent 11 months of secondment as reserach intern at Infinera (Germany) and 9 at Telecom Italia (Italy).

In this testimonial I will describe my experience  among Erasmus+,  curricular internship abroad, Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. The objective is to provide the students with useful info regarding the activities promoted by the European Commission: detail on how to apply, advantages in doing so and suggestions. Finally, I will describe what the european project MENTOR (Machine LEarNing in OpTical NetwORks) is about.
